MEET THE TEAM

The RESIZE consortium is a powerful partnership of experienced organizations, with CPIP-CENTER FOR PROMOTING LIFELONG LEARNING (Timisoara, Romania) serving as the project coordinator. Committed and passionate, this consortium brings together a wealth of expertise, knowledge, and capacity. With their collective strength, they are fully equipped to successfully deliver this transformative project!

 

The project methodology embraces transnational cooperation, leveraging the expertise and resources of partners from multiple countries. The project adopts a collaborative approach involving a consortium of diverse partners with expertise in correctional work, vocational training, skills development, and policy implementation. This approach ensures a comprehensive perspective and fosters knowledge exchange and best practice sharing. We have VET, HE, and labour market actors (employers, trade unions and labour market agency), representing the majority of the ecosystems interacting in corrections. This transnational dimension enhances cross-cultural learning, promotes exchange of best practices, and enables scalability and transferability of successful interventions across borders.

ROMANIA

CPIP-Center for Promoting Lifelong Learning - project coordinator

CPIP has been an influential force in the educational and social sector since its establishment in 2005. Dedicated to fostering lifelong learning, CPIP operates in various developmental areas, including Corrections Advancement, urban security, and the rule of law. Within the European initiatives implemented, CPIP has established partnerships with European organizations specializing in prison environments, and formal and non-formal education systems, collaborating closely with national-level prison institutions to facilitate the seamless implementation of projects activities. We strive to bring professionalisation opportunities to practitioners working within correctional system, taking advantage of the opportunities brought by the European Learning Model, micro-credentials and recognition of prior learning.

ROMANIA

Timisoara Penitentiary

Timisoara Penitentiary is the most important public prison in the West part of Romania. Timisoara Prison is subordinated at National Administration of Penitentiaries from Romania and coordinated by a director and three deputy directors for safety department with security of detention and penitentiary regime department, economical-administrative department and social reintegration department: semi-open and open detention regimes, all incarcerated persons are male and adults.

ROMANIA

Gherla Penitentiary

Gherla Penitentiary is a high-security penitentiary that custody women, men and young people who execute their punishment in maximum security regime, closed regime and open regime. One of the main purposes of detention is social reintegration, education, andre-education of incarcerated persons so that after their release they can integrate in to the communities they come from, respect the generally accepted social norms and lead a decent life.

GREECE

Omospondia Sofronistikon Ipallilon Elladas

Greek union of prison officers, which represents the professionals working within Greek prisons. OSYE advocates for the rights and working conditions of prison officers across Greece. The federation works to improve labor conditions, promote better treatment for prison staff, and ensure that prison officers have the support and resources necessary to carry out their duties safely and efficiently. It also has a role in influencing policy and practices related to the prison system in Greece.

Athens Lifelong Learning Institute

It is a research and educational institute based in Athens. The Institute represents a unique integration of multidisciplinary expertise and ”innovative thinking” drawing on a comprehensive and diverse knowledge base, combining research methods, network development and policy analysis.  The Institute's aim is to enhance innovation processes mainly in the areas of lifelong learning, human capital development, labour markets and social inclusion in a local, national and European context.

Odyssea

Odyssea is a non-profit organization that supports young vulnerable people to have access to employment opportunities in society. We provide tailored vocational and life-skills training combined with employability services that bridge young people with the world of work and empowering them to realize their full potential. Odyssea works with economically and socially vulnerable young people to help them gain the skills and confidence they need to get a job, realize their goals and aspirations, and become productive members in society.

RESCALED

RESCALED proposes a fundamental shift from large-scale prison institutions to small-scale, differentiated, and community-integrated detention houses. Today’s prison systems are often rooted in outdated models that no longer align with contemporary legal standards, social realities, or ethical principles. RESCALED promotes detention houses as a replacement, offering a more humane, sustainable, and future-oriented approach, better suited to the goals and values of modern European justice systems and local communities.

RESCALED is a European movement with 30+ members across 20 countries, including Albania, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Through our network we raise awareness, build networks and knowledge platforms, influence policy, share knowledge and support systemic change.

Center Za Izobraževanje In Kulturo Trebnje

The Trebnje Center for Education and Culture is a public organization, established by the Trebnje municipality to promote and develop an adult education. The CIK Trebnje participate in European projects in the field of adult and socially weekly groups learning, to raise their level of literacy, to increase the scope of competences, social inclusion. Our team participate in European projects as a coordinator in project management activities and as a partner within research and development activities, development of curriculums and training programmes in the field of lifelong learning for rising different literacies, a scope of different competences, pedagogical approaches, e-learning.

The Prison Association has approximately 3,500 members and represents prison officers, transport officers, institutional employees, foremen and uniformed managers in the Danish Prison and Probation Service in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. The association also represents fisheries inspectors in the Danish Fisheries Agency. We are independent of party politics and focus solely on improving the working lives of our members, working for better working environment, better pay, better training and better retirement.

The scope of the Internal Control Service of Prisons activity is the prevention, detection, documentation and preliminary investigation of criminal activity, carried out by employees of the Prison Police, by other structures of the General Directorate of Prisons system and on issues related to prison security. The mission of the Service is to guarantee the implementation of the law by employees of the structures, with the aim of protecting the legitimate interests of the state and fundamental human rights, from their unlawful actions or inactions.

Richtungswechsel

Richtungswechsel (German for: “Change of Direction”) envisions a society where every incarcerated individual is given the support and opportunities needed for their successful social (re)integration. Through a focus on prison staff in combination with public engagement we want to create a culture of opportunities inside and outside of prisons - enabling currently and formerly incarcerated individuals to lead responsible, crime-free lives. Richtungswechsel’s goal is to break the cycle of recidivism by fostering public discourse and holistic collaboration across the sector. As a non-profit organisation, we support European prison initiatives and focus our direct engagement with prison services on working with staff in prison settings.

Founded in 1994 as part of the Congregation of the Poor Servants of Divine Providence, is a National Professional Training Organization accredited in Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, and Sicily. It offers professional training, orientation, and continuing education, and is authorized to serve as an intermediary with the Ministry of Labor. With offices in Termini Imerese, Lamezia Terme, Ferrara, and Cento, it also provides Employment Services and is registered in the National Research Registry. The Termini Imerese office holds UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 certification for its training services. Headquartered in Verona, with a national coordination office in Ferrara, the Association manages a wide range of local, national, and international projects in collaboration with public and private partners.

Interchange Non-Profit Gug (Haftungsbeschrankt)

Interchange  Non-Profit gUG is actively building communities of practice and learning  in the areas of justice and of science communication. Interchange supports initiatives that promote reintegration in prison and effective re-entry into the community post release.

Founded in Skopje, the Association of Citizens International Institute for Development, Education and Scientific Research is a newly created association that aims at the overall improvement of social and sociological needs. since its creation, the association has been actively working on promoting and advancing pan-european values, raising awareness for the realization of the rights and freedoms of citizens and their safety, improvement in the filed of health, the legal system and the overall social interest.

Aproximar- Cooperativa De Solidariedade Social, CRL

Non-profit organization aiming to enhance organizations’ social and human capital as a strategy to build their capacity to sustainably take advantage of challenges and opportunities raised by the external conditions. In fulfilling its mission Aproximar organizes and manages personal, social and professional paths by means of tailor-made and social innovation projects and good practices transference and dissemination. Aproximar develops, organizes & manages different consultancy and training programs involving areas like mentoring, coaching, fundraising, total quality management, social support, volunteering, social innovation processes (new product development, tailored made programs and transferring of good practices).
